The Century of Women

Brief summary

Women up until then were less credited partakers of history. In the 20th century they had become more and more equal players.

The war made societies of participating countries its own servants. Not from military, but from social aspect World War I was a totalitarian war. This meant that behind the women’s movements already demanding general election rights, such a social reality had been set up that made women’s participation in the economy, thus reassessment of their social status ineludible.  Women up until then were less credited partakers of history. In the 20th century however they had become more and more equal players. This also meant that as a result of the war mass societies came to life – masses have become main actors of history by the end of the war. Future dictators too had to win them over.
